Soul Proprietors

Written By Travis Sheridan

Heart first and then head or head first and then heart? From where do new business ideas come? Often times an entrepreneur is emotionally tied to an idea. There is a flutter in the stomach and he or she sits down and begins to put pen to paper. I like passion. You have to possess passion as you begin a new venture (dare I call it an adventure).

Starting your own business, working for yourself, does not mean working alone. It definitely does not mean starting out alone. Who will tell you an idea is good ... or bad? Who will you ask about the effectiveness…or ineffectiveness ... of an ad campaign?

Entrepreneurs are soul proprietors and not necessarily sole proprietors. Take that passion and ask yourself, honestly, about your readiness. Where is it that you need help? Passion doesn’t pay the bills and perfection doesn’t exist. So where are you?

Remember: Confession is good for the soul ...

There are several ways to add practicality to your passion. CVBI wants to partner with you to help you and our region succeed.
