Riley Walter, current vice president, has served on CVBI’s Board of Directors since the organization’s inception in 1996. Walter has more than 23 years of experience in bankruptcy, reorganization and insolvency law while leading the Walter --Wilhelm Law Group.
Walter has served as lead counsel on many of the largest Chapter 11 cases filed in the Eastern District of California and is a certified business bankruptcy specialist by the American Board of Bankruptcy Certification. He has widely written and spoken about bankruptcy and agricultural topics at the local, state and regional levels.
Active in legal organizations such as the State Bar Agribusiness Committee, American Bankruptcy Institute and Federal Bar Association, Walter was inducted into the American College of Bankruptcy as a Fellow in March 2002. He was formerly an adjunct professor of law at the San Joaquin College of Law.
