WHAT: Media are invited to the commercial launch of a new crime prevention tool, Band of Neighbors, in Tulare on July 1. Band of Neighbors uses cell phone technology combined with an Internet-based communication system to alert a subscribing network when any user enters a message. Band of Neighbors is an onsite member of the Central Valley Business Incubator.
WHO: The Tulare Mayor, Tulare Chamber, Tulare Improvement Project (downtown association), Tulare Police Department and downtown businesses.
WHEN: 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 1
WHERE: Tulare Chamber of Commerce -- 220 E. Tulare Street
WHY: Band of Neighbors will hold their national launch in Tulare because of the small town charm and community pride. This crime prevention tool can be used by neighborhoods, homeowners’ associations, downtown business districts, shopping centers and shopping malls.
