On Saturday, Sept. 29, the Claude Laval WET Incubator will serve as host for this year's Fresno Solar Tour. Thousands of solar powered homes and buildings in 44 states will be open for public tours as part of the 12th Annual American Solar Energy Society’s National Solar Tour. Tour participants learn about energy efficiency, renewable energy technologies, and methods that are working and available right now – in real places for real people. These sustainable energy choices help the owners reduce operating costs and improve comfort and health while investing in local communities. Many people are surprised to learn that the Fresno region boasts over 1,000 solar electric systems. This year's 3rd Annual Fresno Solar Tour will feature several residential and commercial solar electric installations, solar water, and alternative fuel technology for automobiles. The tour fee is $10 with online pre-registration at www.FresnoSolarTour.com or $15 on-site. The event is free for students and educators. Printed tour guides and maps will be available at the registration location. On-site registration is 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tour hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. |
