What does this mean?
Competing with California SBDC centers including Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, Northern California and Sacramento, the SBDC Service Center Excellence & Innovation Award honors Small Business Development Centers for innovation and excellence in assisting entrepreneurs and small business owners to achieve their business goals.
Where is CVBI-SBDC located?
Led by Center Director Kirk Nagamine, CVBI-SBDC has its primary service center located in Fresno, with seven satellite centers in its four county region, providing services to small business entrepreneurs in Fresno, Tulare, Kings and Madera Counties. CVBI-SBDC’s second full service center is in Visalia that provides in-depth and full time services to the Tulare and Kings Country areas.
The Office of Community Economic Development (OCED) and Fresno State University serve as hosts to the CVBI-SBDC program.
What services does SBDC provide for entrepreneurs in their region?
The SBDC program provides small business owners and entrepreneurs with tools and guidance to become successful in today’s economic climate. Direct and technical assistance is provided to entrepreneurs through one-on-one consulting at no charge and free or low cost seminars and conferences.
CVBI-SBDC is ecstatic, but we couldn’t be effective without our clients, members &partners.
“On behalf of the CVBI – SBDC team, I would like to express our gratitude for the recognition,” says Kirk Nagamine, CEO of CVBI-SBDC. “We believe that to create quality jobs & improve communities within our nation, it is crucial that support is provided for existing business owners and for innovators and entrepreneurs. Success in this area requires the commitment of many aligned partners and we salute them and our SBDC peers throughout California for the great work that they do.”
The presentation of the SBDC Service Center Excellence & Innovation Award was hosted on May 23, 2012 at the UC Merced SBDC Small Business Week Recognition Program in Fresno.
Congratulations to our Water, Energy & Technology Center (WET) Members and SBDC clients whose hard work and dedication ultimately gained this recognition for our community.
